At Salterra Farm, we are proud members of the Australian Wagyu Association. Our entire herd are ‘Japanese Black’ Wagyu, descending all the way from Japan! Each of our animals are 100% DNA verified Fullblood Wagyu.

The DNA verification process involves undertaking genomic testing on each of our animals. At the conclusion of this process - the sire and dam of each animal is confirmed and the lineage of our progeny can be accurately traced. To be classified as ‘Fullblood’, DNA testing confirms there is no evidence of cross-breeding. Only when this DNA verification process is complete are our cattle formally classified as ‘Fullblood Wagyu.’

The genomic testing also reveals Estimated Breeding Value (EBVs) data. The EBVs for each of our females and bulls for sale are available to be viewed here: Wagyu Animal Enquiry. Our Wagyu herd originates from ACC's industry leading genetics. Each of our animals is also tested for common genetic conditions (CHS, B3, F11, CL16, IARS). This can be crucial information to know before selecting the perfect bull for your herd.

The Fullblood Wagyu breed is particularly well-known for its unique genetic predisposition for intramuscular fat (marbling) and top-notch quality.
